Tyler Forney, Christ Church Local Missions

Tyler was born and raised in Maryville, OH. He is a graduate of Ohio Christian University. He spent three summers working on SOS Summer Staff and has decided to call Memphis home. Tyler is working with Christ Church’s local mission department to combine his passion for community development work and local church ministry. In his free time, Tyler likes to vlog and browse funny videos and memes.

As part of the SOS Academy, Tyler will participate in a 10-day vision international trip to learn from others doing holistic gospel-centered ministry among the marginalized. Tyler is responsible for raising $2,500 to cover the expenses of the trip.

Darriel Neely, Christ Community Health Services

Darriel was born and raised in the city of Memphis, Tennessee. She recently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in May of 2019, receiving her bachelors degree in Social Work with a minor in Leisure, Sports, and Tourism Studies. She absolutely loves sports, especially football, nature, and being adventurous whenever she can! During the Academy year, Darriel will be at Christ Community Health Services working alongside the Behavioral Health Team. She is excited for her role and eager to learn from and how to better serve underserved populations through the lens and heart of Christ. After this Academy year she plans on attending Union University to pursue her Masters of Social Work.

As part of the SOS Academy, Darriel will participate in a 10-day vision international trip to learn from others doing holistic gospel-centered ministry among the marginalized. Darriel is responsible for raising $2,500 to cover the expenses of the trip.

Caroline Berry, Alcy Ball Development Corporation

Caroline was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee and recently graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in Organizational Leadership and Sociology. Caroline has served with SOS as a part of the Summer Staff community for the past few years. Through her experience on staff she developed a desire to be a part of unique community development opportunities. Throughout her Academy year, Caroline will be working at the Alcy Ball Development Corporation as the Events and Volunteers Intern. She is excited to get to be a part of this organization and learn more about what it means to be in a thriving community. When she is not working you could find her watching and/or playing basketball, enjoying a quality cup of coffee, or riding a bike.

Victoria Fuentes, World Relief

Victoria grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and went to undergrad at THE Ohio State University where she received a dual degree in Political Science and Environmental Policy and Decision-Making. She will be spending her academy year working the Memphis office of World Relief doing administrative tasks and face-to-face contact with clients. Victoria has a strong passion for justice and immigration law which is a major reason for her working at World Relief. In her free time, Victoria loves to watch football, specifically da Bears and the Buckeyes, look at pictures of pugs, and eat bacon.

As part of the SOS Academy, Victoria will participate in a 10-day vision international trip to learn from others doing holistic gospel-centered ministry among the marginalized. Victoria is responsible for raising $2,500 to cover the expenses of the trip.

Carter Mackie, Binghampton Development Corporation

Carter grew up in Hudson, NC and recently graduated from the University of South Carolina. Go Gamecocks! He was on SOS Summer Staff for four summers and is excited to finally move to Memphis and be a part of the SOS Academy. Carter is an intern at the Binghampton Development Corporation and is passionate about continuing to work in the Binghampton neighborhood. His hobbies include biking, playing Sorry!, getting his hair cut by Nene Fadez, and eating Arroz Con Pollo from La Guadalupana.
